								<description>Washington, D.C.,  Georgetown University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Teaching Professor with administrative leadership responsibilities. This non-tenure line faculty member will serve as the Program Director for the Master of Science in Environment and Sustainability Management ( MS-ESM ) and teach in the program. The position will be jointly appointed within the McDonough School of Business, The Earth Commons, and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.   MS-ESM is a full-time, 11-month interdisciplinary program held on campus in Washington, D.C. The unique curriculum combines principles of environmental science with a foundation in business management, educating students to become ethical leaders on environment and sustainability issues. This premier program currently has an annual enrollment of 45 students with the potential to grow. 
 &#xa0; 
 This position covers 15-credits of teaching/administrative responsibilities including: 
 
 Leading the MS-ESM program and overseeing the overall planning and execution of the program in collaboration with the Academic Directors of the program, 
 Teaching courses in your specific disciplinary expertise, 
 Engaging in short-term and long-term strategic planning to ensure quality of the academic experience, 
 Collaborating with faculty to make continuous improvements to the curriculum and courses, 
 Advising students and engaging with student leadership, 
 Engaging with internal and external constituents to ensure successful outcomes, 
 Coordinating with administrative, careers, and admissions staff, and 
 Collaborating with other Georgetown University schools in the academic spaces related to ESM.

 MEISPP offers 10-week assignments from June 5 th &#xa0;through August 11 th , 2023. Some assignments may continue part time during the academic year. Do something big this summer &#8211; intern with the DOE! You must meet the following to be eligible for an internship: 
 
 Be at least 18 years of age 
 Be a U.S. citizen (permanent residents and green card holders are ineligible) 
 Be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full time during the 2022-2023 academic year at an accredited Minority Serving Institution (MSI).&#xa0;MSI&#8217;s that meet the statutory criteria for identification (as defined by the U.S. Department of Education) and are eligible for this program are listed here:&#xa0; MSI designation list &#xa0;(Excel, 66kb). 
 Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

 Additional eligibility factors: 
 
 Have coverage under a health insurance plan before arriving at the appointment site and maintain coverage during the appointment. 
 
 
 Candidates selected for an internship appointment will be required to provide proof of enrollment during the Spring 2023 term. 
 Undergraduate seniors graduating in May/June are eligible to participate in summer internships and may continue during the academic year if entering a graduate program at a MSI during the following Fall term. Proof of enrollment in a MSI will need to be submitted before the Fall internship period starts. 
 Graduate students completing their degree in May/June are only eligible to participate in a summer internship. 
 Students may apply for and are eligible to participate in the program at multiple times during their undergraduate and graduate studies. However, there should not be an assumption or expectation of being selected for another internship. All students must re-apply and be selected for a project during each application cycle. 
 Stipends
Summer Session (Full-Time Appointments)

Undergraduate student - $750 per week
Graduate student - $950 per week
During Academic Terms (Part-time Appointments)

Stipends for part-time appointments will be prorated based on the expected level of effort.

 

In Person/Hybrid Summer Session
The following benefits will be offered if you relocate more than 50 miles from your home location during the summer.

Commuting: a stipend supplement of $50 per week to offset expenses associated with commuting to/from your official assigned location and local meetings/training.
Housing: a stipend supplement will be paid based on the assigned location. Supplements range from $343 - $777 per week.
Inbound-Outbound Travel: Up to $1000 reimbursement for limited inbound/outbound transportation expenses from your current address to the assigned location.

Virtual Internships Summer Session
If no relocation is required to complete your summer appointment, you will receive a stipend supplement of $150 per week to offset the cost of remote participation.</description>
