 ACCI Specialty Materials is a leading chemical manufacturing company based in  Linden, NJ . We are currently seeking a Summer Intern to help develop a preventative maintenance program and update the Health &#38; Safety program. 
 Responsibilities: 
 
 Assist in the development of a preventative maintenance program for manufacturing equipment 
 Help update the Health &#38; Safety program by reviewing policies and procedures and recommending improvements 
 Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and make recommendations for corrective actions 
 Assist with the implementation of new safety initiatives 
 Work closely with the maintenance team and other departments to ensure compliance with safety regulations 
 Participate in safety training sessions and provide input on new training programs 
 
 This is a great opportunity for a motivated student who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in developing and implementing preventative maintenance and health &#38; safety programs. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and make a real impact on our operations. 
 &#xa0; Requirements: 
 
 Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in a related field (e.g. Engineering, Occupational Health &#38; Safety, Environmental Science) 
 Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
 Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
 Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 
 Familiarity with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards preferred 
 Previous experience in a manufacturing environment a plus 
 Ability to speak Spanish is a plus

								<description>Marrakech, Morocco,  Drylands cover nearly 1/3 of Earth&#8217;s surface, host 40% of its population, and are mainly located in developing countries. Groundwater recharge in drylands is dominated by focused mechanisms, such as infiltration beneath ephemeral streams, but is incompletely understood. 
 We are recruiting 5 graduate or undergraduate students for a National Science Foundation-funded project (International Research Experiences for Students) to study transmission losses in ephemeral streams in Morocco. The program includes (dates are tentative): 
 
 Virtual training in techniques in hydrology, remote sensing, GIS, and hydrologic modeling (online, March 15&#8211;April 30) 
 1-week virtual technical and cultural training workshop (online, May 15&#8211;22) 
 5-week field project with U.S. and Moroccan researchers in Morocco (May 30&#8211;July 2) 
 Virtual training in professional practice, scientific communication, and community outreach (online, August 15&#8211;December 15) 
 
 Travel expenses will be covered and a $3,000 stipend will be paid upon completion.  Application deadline January 31, 2023 . Ideal applicants will have a background in geology or a related discipline (for example, agricultural engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, environmental science, geography, or soil science). The Food Innovation Team at Ajinomoto Health &#38; Nutrition North America, Inc. is seeking an ambitious and dynamic Research and Development Intern, Innovation. This role will contribute a fresh perspective to the creativity and critical thinking required to innovate and apply food science knowledge to real-life ingredients and food products. For 10 weeks, as an intern you will experience real-life challenges, exposure to customers, a chance to challenge your curiosity, and enjoy accomplishments both personal and as a team. 
 As an intern, you will be assigned to one or multiple projects. This is an opportunity to get your hands dirty and earn boots-on-the-ground experience in the food science research and innovation space at a global company. 
 The individual will be responsible for providing technical support to new product development, ingredient innovation, sample preparation, and sensory evaluation across our diverse portfolio of food ingredients and applications. The intern will be in this position for 10 weeks over the summer, with timing flexible for the right candidate. This is a paid, in-person internship.

 EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 
 
 Preferably, seeking upper classman in Bachelor of Science programs or Master&#8217;s student in Food Science or adjacent fields such as chemistry or chemical engineering with an interest in food science. 
 Must be full-time student on break, or between BS and MS degrees.

 Research how Ajinomoto ingredients function in different applications and processes. Create new and innovative formulations for customers and/or tradeshows. 
 Assist in shelf-life preparations and evaluations. Assist in evaluating and setting up ingredient and food cuttings, including assisting in administering sensory evaluations. 
 Document processes, formulas, ingredients, and results related to production tests, samples and product evaluations consistent with Ajinomoto standard operating procedures. 
 Perform all work in accordance with Ajinomoto GMP, Allergen, and Quality Programs and participate in annual training for these programs. 
 Perform other duties as assigned.

Proof of enrollment in a MSI will need to be submitted before the Fall internship period starts. 
 Graduate students completing their degree in May/June are only eligible to participate in a summer internship. 
 Students may apply for and are eligible to participate in the program at multiple times during their undergraduate and graduate studies. However, there should not be an assumption or expectation of being selected for another internship. All students must re-apply and be selected for a project during each application cycle. 
 Stipends
Summer Session (Full-Time Appointments)

Undergraduate student - $750 per week
Graduate student - $950 per week
During Academic Terms (Part-time Appointments)

Stipends for part-time appointments will be prorated based on the expected level of effort.

 

In Person/Hybrid Summer Session
The following benefits will be offered if you relocate more than 50 miles from your home location during the summer.

Commuting: a stipend supplement of $50 per week to offset expenses associated with commuting to/from your official assigned location and local meetings/training.
Housing: a stipend supplement will be paid based on the assigned location. Supplements range from $343 - $777 per week.
Inbound-Outbound Travel: Up to $1000 reimbursement for limited inbound/outbound transportation expenses from your current address to the assigned location.

Virtual Internships Summer Session
If no relocation is required to complete your summer appointment, you will receive a stipend supplement of $150 per week to offset the cost of remote participation.</description>
