Tenure Track Faculty in Computational Genomics, Rank DOQ
Details
The Department of Human Genetics at the University of Utah is launching a multi-year recruiting initiative targeting multiple tenure-track positions. We seek applications for tenure-track faculty positions at any rank and value creative scientists that bring innovative techniques, perspectives and questions. This year's recruitment includes a partnership with the Computational Genomics Initiative and seeks highly creative scientists who devise and combine innovative computational approaches with genomics techniques to understand genome biology or the genetics of human disease. Candidates whose primary research focus combines innovative computational approaches with genomic assays or health-related datasets for translational genomics research are particularly responsive. Successful candidates will also demonstrate a commitment to generating or integrating experimental data to foster innovative methods development, biological insight, and translational impact. This search is focused on recruitment to the Department of Human Genetics; however, it is an institutional initiative, and candidates may also be considered for positions in the Department of Biomedical Informatics.
The Department of Human Genetics is a vibrant and growing research community. We value mentorship and are committed to fostering a collaborative and nurturing community of scientists. Demonstration of a commitment to these values will be important in the selection process. Individuals must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., or equivalent degrees at any rank. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in research with strong potential for securing and sustaining independent extramural funding. Our department and institution offer excellent facilities and resources. Successful candidates will receive a competitive salary, generous startup package, active faculty mentoring, and a research environment that fosters growth and excellence.
For full consideration, applications should be received by November 15th, 2024. Only electronic applications will be accepted, and should include:
