NAVFAC Atlantic is looking to fill two positions with this announcement, a drinking water subject matter expert (SME) position and a petroleum, oil, lubricant (POL) SME position.
In these positions you will:
Serve as a senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) for environmental compliance in order to develop technical requirements, prepare justifications, and/or provide technical expertise to leadership and other activities.
Provide expert technical advice and assistance on the interpretation and applicability of current federal, state, regional, and local policies and directives.
Review plans, designs, and specifications for improvement, alteration, and/or construction of facilities.
Provide subject matter expertise (SME) for environmental compliance products and services in support of Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricants (POL) storage tanks and other facility compliance.
Provide SME in principal environmental legislation and DoD policy including Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Subtitle I, Clean Water Act (CWA), other environmental laws and Navy policies, and industry standards.
Both of these positions are for full-time employment. There will be opportunities to support projects and travel throughout the United States, to US territories, and to a variety of foreign locations.
The position is eligible for telework. The number of telework days per pay period will be based on Command policy (up to 4 days per week), in-office needs, and the employee's ability to effectively work from a telework location.
