This is a senior level professional position where the successful candidate will work with a high degree of autonomy to creatively solve complex problems by:
Jointly managing projects, programs, and subsidiary programs to achieve benefits that can’t be obtained by managing them separately.
Coordinating with county staff across multiple work groups within the county as well as state and city officials, law enforcement, schools, and community groups to maximize program benefits.
Presenting/communicating technical information to non-technical audiences as well as to elected officials and other program sponsors, both orally and in writing, and informing them of program progress.
Implementing best practices from the AASHTO Highway Safety Manual and Washington State’s Target Zero Plan.
Collaborating with the county’s funding coordinators to pursue HSIP, safe routes to school, and other road safety grants.
Utilizing data management and data visualization tools such as ArcGIS and Microsoft PowerBI.

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, urban planning, transportation planning, or related field; AND five (5) years of specialized experience related to transportation; OR, any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the skills, knowledge and ability necessary to perform the work. Must pass job related tests.
Special Requirements
A Professional Engineer's License may be required depending on the area of assignment.
A valid Washington State Driver's License is required for employment.
